A Product Overview for the Breg Hinged Knee Brace

Breg hinged knee braceAS THE Name Implies, The Breg Hinged Knee Brace is Designed to Help Support a Knee (either right or left) After Surgery or Injury.

It does this by wrapping around the leg, both above and below the knee, which adds needed stability.

After injury or surgery, the knee is very vulnerable, as it has your weight to support while trying to heal. This is exactly why it needs the added support and stability of the Breg hinged knee brace.

The Breg hinged knee brace is also adjustable to limit range of motion, which will keep the injury from being stressed and strained before it is ready.

Once your knee has sustained significant damage, it will need the assistance provided by this type of knee brace to recover. Bearing your full weight while the knee is compromised and unprotected, will only lead to further damage and longer recovery time.

What Type of Damage Will it Help?

This is a very versatile knee brace and easy to use, so it will help a wide array of problems. It can be used for:

  • Tendon issues – Patella Tendon

Knee Anatomy

  • Ligament damage – ACL, PCL, MCL, LCL
  • Sprains and strains.
  • Soft tissue damage
  • Cartilage problems
  • Arthritis
  • Osteochondral repairs
  • Fractures

This is not a sleeve type of brace that has to be pulled up over the foot and onto the knee, which can be painful when your knee is compromised in some way. This is a wraparound knee brace, making it very easy to use and adjust to the right position.

Features of the Breg Hinged Knee Brace

I’ve touched on some features above, but I will go over them again, and I’ll add some new ones here.

  • It has what they call a T Scope hinge built-in on the exterior of the brace. This allows it to be locked into 5 different positions. There is a button to push which easily allows you to adjust the angle on the go. (long version pictured above)
  • Open back to prevent bunching up behind the knee (short version shown above)
  • Choice of 2 materials – Neoprene or Airmesh
  • Hook & Loop fasteners for easy on/off and adjustments for snugness
  • 2 versions – long or short
  • Many sizes from XS – XXXL (sizing chart with instructions to pick the right one on website)
  • Will fit either the right or left knee

This knee brace looks like it offers supper support. My dad has knee injuries and we keep changing knee pads all the time. The ones he uses seems to loose its elasticity every single day. the fact that it can be gently wrapped around the knee is great. You can imagine the pain of wearing a knee brace from your toes upwards towards the knee.

I hope I can have this one shipped over. Thank you for the review.

Thank you Carol for your comments.

Having a need to wear a knee brace is bad enough, but when it doesn’t do its job for one reason or another, is even worse.

I really hope this brace is THE answer for your Dad!

All the best to you both,

    Tom

This looks like a very good knee brace. I work in health insurance and talk to people almost every day who have knee replacements or knee injuries. This looks like a great product. I personally broke my wrist last fall and had surgery. If not for the brace I wore after, I wouldn’t have been able to function. But it was a drugstore type of brace and I probably would have benefited more from a quality brace such as these. Legs and knees affected by injuries are even worse since it affects one’s mobility.

Nice products.

    I couldn’t agree more Paula!

When the need arises for a brace, regardless of where it is needed, you want a quality one. You want to make a one time purchase to do the job, not buying one after another, only to be disappointed.

Not using a brace at all would only put us at risk of reinjury, prolonging the recovery time, or improper healing where the affected area doesn’t go back to its original condition.

Thank you for your supportive words, and if you find yourself in need of a brace again (hopefully not), please remember to look me up.

    All the best,

    Tom
